What is the Coalition on Family Caregiving? We are a group of community based organizations, health care providers and others, working with a common mission to provide family caregivers in our community with a link to vital services and support. As advocates for family caregivers, we bring relevant issues into public forum.  We also support and provide free educational programs on topics of vital interest to caregivers and their families. Our caregiver support focuses primarily in and around the Union County New Jersey area.

New October, 2010 FHA Home Equity Conversion Mortgage programs allow seniors, 62+, to stay in their homes and tap into their home equity.  There is a choice of programs depending upon the needs of the senior.  One program provides for the most money in order to pay down a debt while another, the Savor, is like a home equity line for seniors that does not have to be paid back until the senior (s) permanently leaves their home.   There are none of the standard reverse mortgage fees on the Savor.  Both products can be used to pay for in-home care, long term health care, or any other purpose that the senior chooses.
